Why can't I fit the KiddyGuard® gates near a top stair step?

Modified on Fri, 7 Jul, 2023 at 10:42 AM

The mesh utilized in the KiddyGuard® gates is designed to provide exceptional strength and security. Its fabric composition offers numerous advantages, including a soft surface that cushions any potential falls for your child. When the gate is closed, the fabric remains taut, yet it possesses a natural flexibility that allows it to flex if confronted with an obstruction, such as a foot pressing against the bottom of the blind.

However, it is important to consider the positioning of the gate during installation.  If the KiddyGuard® is mounted too close to the top of the step, this inherent flexing capability could inadvertently create a gap between the bottom of the mesh and the stair's edge. This gap could potentially allow a child's foot to slip through, posing a safety risk. By mounting the gate 15cm back from the top of the stair, this concern is effectively mitigated. This strategic placement ensures that a gap cannot form, providing optimal protection for your child
